Ryan came out and gave us a quote for 2 sun tunnels, his expertise and suggestions were very helpful in making an informed decision with the best possible outcome. Since installation in 2022 a couple of minor issues have appeared, I would contact Alberta Skylights and an appointment would be set up immediately. Ryan would come, analysis the issues and make the necessary repairs. To our benefit both times he came out it turned out to be a manufacturer upgrade, with no cost to us that had to be completed. It was done in a timely manner with care and attention to keeping the work area clean. Thanks Ryan for your ongoing, excellent customer service, keep up the great work! Syd

We have had issues with our skylight ever since another roofing company re-shingled our roof Oct 2021. I struggled until Dec 2024 trying to determine the cause of the leaks having the other roofing company come back several times with no success. Long story short we were having lots of ice damming and leaking with the freeze thaw Dec 2024. Ryan from Alberta skylight came in quickly after the first phone call and assesses the issue. He provided a very reasonable quote and could do the work right away. We proceeded with the work which he did do within a few weeks as promised. I'm happy to say we don't have any leaks in out skylight and everything looks great. I will be having him back soon to look over any other issues that he can see on the rest of our roof that may present themselves in the future. This is an excellent company to work with. They come in, get the job done and leave with no issues. I will be recommending them to others.

Had an issue with our old skylight and within less than a week they had the consultation, the install and the finishing work completed. All during the cold so we are very much appreciative of the work they’ve done and we would highly recommend.

Happy with service. Prompt follow up on our initial call for a skylight replacement. Convenient appointment set up. Estimator showed up on time, was pleasant and very informative. Received quick estimate. Decided to proceed. Installation was done in a morning and operational instructions were clear. Still waiting for cosmetic paint touch up (spring).

Recently had two skylights replaced by Alberta Skylights. They did an excellent job, and the difference with the new skylights is incredible. Alberta Skylights had to order custom glass for us which ended up taking much longer than we initially expected, however Kim was always very responsive with letting me know the status of our job.

Ryan and crew replaced our two old leaky skylights. They did a fantastic job, very professional and responsive from start to finish. I had a quote in less than an hour of Ryan's initial visit. While the new skylights are a little smaller than what was originally there you can't tell the difference. The job was done very neatly, cleanup was great. All in all a very pleasureable experience.

We needed to replace a defective skylight. An inspection appointment was scheduled within a day of our phone call and the installation done shortly thereafter. Ryan walked us through the entire process and we can't say enough about how professionally everything was handled from start to finish. That was truly a 5-star experience! If only there were six stars! Ryan consulted us on how to navigate a tricky leak in an older sun tube in our master bathroom. He was patient, detailed and comprehensive in his explanation and assessment of the issue. Our minds are at ease after thinking we had thousands of dollars in damage. Ryan came out to quote a skylight replacement and also found several roof issues that could have led to problems if not attended. The repairs were done in the time quoted. The workmanship was awesome and the job done looks great. One critique I have is the old materials removed sat on the lawn on the hottest days of the year. This resulted in a burnt lawn. However, this does not take away from the 5 star rating. Thanks Ryan!

What a five star experience! Ryan and his team took our open concept dining/living room from dark to light!We knew we had the right company when Ryan came by to discuss options. We enjoyed our “visit” as we got to know him and his company philosophy. This is a fellow who knows his stuff and what it takes to build a customer focused and professional team. It turned out that our shingles (recently installed) were defective in spots. We would not have known if Ryan didn’t spot this while on the roof. He put us in touch with our roofer re: manufacturer warranty. Above and beyond! But back to our skylight. We are thrilled! Thanks Ryan and team. This picture is on a gloomy night at 9 pm. Wow. Alberta Skylights refused to accept the waterfall through my kitchen ceiling was caused by their install of my new skylight, leaving me no choice but to hire another contractor to diagnose and fix the problem (which was indeed determined to be caused by Alberta Skylights’ install). Alberta Skylights refused to reimburse the repair cost of $519.75, plus the $900 it would take to repaint my ceiling to cover the water stains. They then blocked communication with me and deferred me to their lawyer. After much ‘discussion’ (and frustration), the lawyer relayed Alberta Skylights’ final offer to pay me $750, which I would get ONLY if I signed a “settlement agreement” (aka ‘gag order’), preventing me from reviewing Alberta Skylights or discussing my experience with my friends and colleagues. I refused the offer because I’d rather share this terrible experience than settle for an amount that would cover only half my repair costs.Alberta Skylights has tried to claim I didn’t give them the opportunity to fix the problem and that I told them they were not welcome in my house. Yes, I asked them to leave and never return, but that was at the meeting where I had invited them to diagnose and fix the problem, at which meeting Alberta Skylights flat-out refused to admit there could be any problem with their install because “(he is) a Red Seal Certified Journeyman.” At that meeting he used profanity and was arrogant and rude while he repeatedly denied any responsibility for the problem, so we hired someone else to fix the problem Alberta Skylights caused.I wonder if there are other install issues not showing in the reviews because of “settlement agreements” preventing people from sharing their unsatisfactory experiences…Edit: I am not surprised Alberta Skylights would say absolutely anything (in their response) to try to discredit my review, but I am completely shocked they would attempt to slander the very reputable contractor who diagnosed and repaired the problem Alberta Skylights caused (and refused to admit they caused). Alberta Skylights said in their response to this review: "Subsequently, you enlisted the services of an individual with a questionable professional track record." Shameful to try to shift blame to the person who fixed the problem they caused (and - through thorough testing - confirmed it was a problem caused by Alberta Skylights' install of the skylight).Furthermore, Alberta Skylights is trying to claim in their response the problem was caused by "an ice dam located below, coincidentally right above where the staining occurred." Well, there was no snow or ice on the roof above where the staining occurred, but that is irrelevant since moisture entering the structure could have only been caused BY AN ISSUE WITH THE FLASHING that Alberta Skylights installed. (The insulation contractor I used to upgrade our insulation is the same insulation contractor Alberta Skylights uses, and he can confirm there is no insulation issue which could cause "attic rain".)

My wife and I purchased our new-to-us house 2 years ago, which came with 2 Velux tubular skylights. We recently noticed some water inside one skylight, and were given Alberta Skylight’s contact info as a local installer by Velux Canada.Booking an appointment was super easy with the online interface, and there was no dispatch charge. Ryan arrived with punctuality and a smile. He quickly took apart the bottom end of our skylight and identified our problem. As he worked, he gave us a tutorial on how the skylight works and explained why we’re experiencing issues. Ryan also gave a number of options to address the problem: from just re-addressing symptoms at no-cost, to a possible DIY fix at low-cost, to the full replacement at competitive market-cost.Overall, very satisfied with our experience with Ryan and Alberta Skylights. We haven’t decided what we’ll proceed with, but we’re certainly confident in the information we’ve received.

What we thought was a cracked skylight. Usually we get 3 estimates for major work with our home. For some reason we were not satisfied with the 3 and called Alberta Skylights for a 4th. So glad we did! Ryan came out and took a look. He actually went up on the roof. Not cracked but a piece of whatever on the inside of the glass. He also took pictures of our roof and the curling shingles. He explained the reasons and introduced us to the roofing side of his company. We are able to hold off this major item til 2024 spring and will be contacting Ryan to come and get it all done!

Ryan was an absolute pleasure to work with. He came quickly to provide a quote, and upon seeing that we only had plywood covering the skylight hole after the roofers finished shingling, he came out on the weekend to install both the skylight and sun tunnel. I normal don't put on a review but Ryan is a stellar for me.We are dealing with lots of company as we are renovating our house to the point that I am afraid to ask questions. However Ryan is very approachable,friendly,answer all my questions from day one and take time to explained everything to me before proceeding the replacement of our skylight. Ryan exceeded my expectation.Also,Sarah who always there answering call from the office. Ryan made a good impression on my wife and I from the first time we met him. He showed up on time and was friendly, well spoken and took the time to answer any and all questions we had. The Fort day that we were scheduled to have our skylights installed the weather did not cooperate with us and we had to reschedule. Ryan came and installed our skylights on the weekend rather than making us wait for another opening in his schedule. He and his team were professional, and courteous, they installed our new skylights, repaired the shingles around the area and kept the yard and work area clean. We are extreme satisfied with the new Velux skylights and noticed a difference in the heat transfer to the house immediately. I contacted Alberta Skylights to get an estimate for three sun-tunnels. Given the expertise of the consultant we ended up replacing our roof before it caused major problems and had three Velux sun tunnels installed. The weather caused a brief delay however Ryan and his team got the job done in one day when weather permitted. The consultation on ceiling location and install was professional, clean and without incident. I would recommend Alberta Skylights to anyone contemplating any renovation requiring skylights or sun-tunnels. Thanks to Ryan and his crew for a job well done.

We had a hail storm at 10am and it broke an old skylight in our house. I found Ryan on Google, called him, he gave me a quote and offered to come down 1.5 hours south of Edmonton the same day. He and Oz had the new window installed by 3pm!! Very courteous and professional. Great experience.

I had Ryan from Alberta Skylights at my property for a small roof repair. I confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that I needed the repair and contacted Ryan that evening. He came out Wednesday and, by Friday, repairs were complete. Likely would have been sooner if weather was better. Great quality work at a fair price.

I spoke with Ryan regarding custom sizing for a few skylights I required. Ryan was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in recommending the appropriate products for my application. Had an old skylight replaced with some new technology. Velux referred three local approved installers for their product, which does give some peace of mind. The manufacturer also follows up via email a bit as well which is good in case there are issues.Ryan was quick to respond to the request for my quote and came to inspect the job. The quote was slightly lower than a competitor for the same product.The team came out on the date and time they indicated they would and did a great job installing the skylight without issues. They also removed an unused roof vent at no extra charge which was nice.Overall, the experience was quite straightforward and I am satisfied with the experience.
